OAS Membership

We hope you like our new on-line shop and area for membership. You will be able to join Orkney Archaeology Society and keep track of your membership status through this web site.

How to Join

You can join us directly online using your credit card or Paypal account with our online membership service. You can also arrange to pay us by internet banking and our bank details are on the OAS Membership Form below.

If you have a UK bank account and prefer to pay us by bank transfer, cheque or by regular annual standing order you can join us by clicking here to download our membership form and posting it or better still doing it through online banking. What your Membership gives you

When you become a member of the Society you will be helping to continue the excellent and vital archaeological work carried out in Orkney. On joining you will receive a copy of the latest Annual Review ( whilst stocks last! ) … the 2021 issue is at the printers now so it won’t be long before we send it out.  And as long as you remain a member you will receive a copy of the annual Orkney Archaeology Review which includes articles about recent and upcoming archaeological projects and updates on the activities of the Society.

In addition Anna Gudge, the membership secretary sends out occasional emails with additional bits of information, for example giving advance notification of talks to members or other matters pertaining to archaeology in Orkney that might be of interest.

You can be sure that as a member you are supporting the really important, interesting and exciting archaeological developments and research in Orkney. Neolithic – Viking  – Pictish – WWII – Graffiti in the Cathedral … there is just so much to discover and enjoy.

As a member you have the right to vote at a society AGM or EGM for the election of society committee members and any Society constitution changes. You may also stand for election to the society management Committee.

Membership Year: The OAS membership runs 12 months from your first payment.

Orkney Archaeology Society’s membership records are treated confidentially and are not shared with, or passed to, any other organisations in any way. They are used purely for administrative purposes such as distribution of the free publications and subscription reminders.

However, from time to time we may want to contact members to notify them of events or items for sale for fund raising purposes. Under Data Protection regulations you may, if you so wish, let us know that you would prefer not to receive such information from us.
