We hope you like our new on-line shop and area for membership. You will be able to join Orkney Archaeology Society and keep track of your membership status through this web site.
We would love to welcome you as a member of OAS – as a member you will receive a free copy of our Annual Review, which is not just a “newsletter” it’s a booklet with all sort of articles about archaeology here in Orkney – you can have a look at the Reviews in our shop – each one has a list of some of the articles included in that issue to give you an idea of how interesting it is! (AND … some of them are on sale so it’s worth investigating !)
In addition, our membership secretary, Anna, sends out emails to tell you about up-coming talks, or about the release of a video of a previous talk. Don’t worry though, you won’t be bombarded – they are only occasional emails.
How to Join – it’s easy !
You can join us directly online using your credit card through our online membership service. You could also arrange to pay us by internet banking or standing order and if that is your preferred method, please mail Anna : mbrsec@orkneyarchaeologysociety.org.uk and she will send you the details.
Why your Membership is so valuable
When you become a member of the Society you will be helping to continue the excellent and vital archaeological work carried out in Orkney. It helps support our Grants Fund meaning that we can offer special projects financial help.
We try and ensure all our talks are free, and your membership helps fund some of that – although we do run raffles at the “in person” talks to cover some of the costs at least.
As a member you have the right to vote at a society AGM or EGM for the election of society committee members and any Society constitution changes. You may also stand for election to the society management Committee.
Membership Year: The OAS membership runs 12 months from your first payment.
If you have any questions please use the Feedback form to contact us or write to our membership secretary at Orkney Archaeology Society, Mill cottage, Voy, Stromness, Orkney KW16 3HX
Data Protection
Orkney Archaeology Society’s membership records are treated confidentially and are not shared with, sold or passed on to any other organisations in any way. They are used purely for administrative purposes such as distribution of the free publications and subscription reminders.
However, we do send out the occasional newsletter – truly we try never to bombard our members – but we like to be able to tell you of talks that are going to be held, often online, that you may find of interest, as well as about other events being staged, special news and things like that. Under Data Protection regulations you may, if you so wish, let us know that you would prefer not to receive such information from us. You can do this at any time by contacting the Membership Secretary, Orkney Archaeology Society, Mill Cottage Voy, Stromness, Orkney, KW16 3HX
