Join OAS

We hope you like our new on-line shop and area for membership. You will be able to join Orkney Archaeology Society and keep track of your membership status through this web site.

How to Join or Renew

You can join us directly online using your credit card with our online membership service. You could also arrange to pay us by internet banking or (even better) standing order and our bank details and all the relevant information are on the OAS Membership Form. You could also download the form and send it with a cheque (only a UK bank cheque please!). If you are paying by bank transfer please be sure to let us know and give us your postal address so we can send you your copy of the Annual Review. Just email Anna : mbrsec@orkneyarchaeologysociety.org.uk

If you are already a Member of OAS and wish to renew you annual subscription you can do so easily by “joining” through our online membership service, or by downloading the membership form and sending it in or if you wish, please contact Anna – our membership secretary whose email is mbrsec@orkneyarchaeologysociety.org.uk

What your Membership gives you

When you become a member of the Society you will be helping to continue the excellent and vital archaeological work carried out in Orkney. On joining you will receive a copy of the latest Annual Review ( whilst stocks last! ) and information on upcoming society events or other information is sent by email, so please be sure to let us have both your postal AND your email address – it is ideal if you can email the membership secretary when you join so she is sure to have your email address correctly – otherwise mistakes can occur when it is typed in!

As long as you remain a member you will receive a copy of the annual Orkney Archaeology Review including articles about recent and upcoming archaeological projects and updates on the activities of the Society.

We hope to offer discounts for members in our on-line shop and also we hope to be offering exclusive on-line content for members in the future.

As a member you have the right to vote at a society AGM or EGM for the election of society committee members and any Society constitution changes. You may also stand for election to the society management Committee.

Membership Year: The OAS membership runs 12 months from your first payment.

If you have any questions please use the Feedback form to contact us or write to our secretary at Orkney Archaeology Society, Millfield Cottage, Evie, Orkney, KW17 2NJ

Orkney Archaeology Society’s membership records are treated confidentially and are not shared with, sold or passed on to any other organisations in any way. They are used purely for administrative purposes such as distribution of the free publications and subscription reminders.

However, we do send out the occasional newsletter – truly we try never to bombard our members – but we like to be able to tell you of talks that are going to be held, often online, that you may find of interest, as well as about other events being staged, special news and things like that. Under Data Protection regulations you may, if you so wish, let us know that you would prefer not to receive such information from us. You can do this at any time by contacting the Membership Secretary, Orkney Archaeology Society, Mill Cottage Voy, Stromness, Orkney, KW16 3HX
